Briagolong is no boys’ club

The majority of Briagolong brigade’s management team and nearly half of its 62 members are women – quite a different situation from when Heather Hamment first joined in 1981.

Coongulla is a small town on the shores of Lake Glenmaggie in the Wellington Shire. The population grows during the summer holidays. The brigade is embracing community engagement and has had some good success during the last couple of years.

The new Glengarry Fire Station

The Glengarry community came together on Sunday 24 November 2013 to pay tribute to members of the township’s fire brigade and to officially open their new fire station and receive the keys to a new 2.4C Tanker.  The new fire station represents the amalgamation of Glengarry Rural and Glengarry West Fire Brigades.  The opening of the station was a great day for the future of the brigade, and equally important to recognise the people who built both brigades.

65 years of service in Munro

The Munro community came together on Sunday 24 November 2013 to celebrate CFA Sunday, to pay tribute to members of the township’s fire brigade and to officially open their new fire station.  The opening of the station was a great day for the future of the brigade and allowed for recognition of the people who built this brigade into what it is today through brigade life memberships.

On 25 and 26 November, a team from Gippsland Region and afar participated in Wildfire Minimum Skills training with the help of Terry Hanley, Doug Bracks and Peter Hodges at West Sale Training Campus.

It felt like One CFA
