Faces of CFA: Captain Joel Borgelt

What are your CFA roles? I’m the captain at Nhill and the group communications officer. I joined the senior side of the brigade at 16 and two years into that I stepped in as third lieutenant. I moved through the lieutenant ranks and became captain three years ago.

Women in District 17 Training Day

On Sunday 10 April 2016, 29 women from District 17 attended the Women in District 17 Training Day at the Victorian Emergency Management Training Centre (VEMTC) – Longerenong campus. The purpose of the day was to build confidence and encourage women to be more actively involved in their brigades.

Wimmera farmers did the right thing this harvest

The award-winning VFF and CFA Volunteer Harvest Guide trial was a success, with minimal harvest fires occurring this season. The guidelines have been making farmers more aware of the risks of harvesting during severe weather conditions.

D17 presentation to the Chief

Last night (23 September) District 17 made a presentation to Chief Officer Euan Ferguson to thank him for his friendship with the district and wish him farewell.
