Statewide TFB declared
A Total Fire Ban has been declared for the whole state of Victoria tomorrow (Friday, 11 January).
No fire can be lit in the open air from 12:01am on 11 January 2013 until 11:59pm.
Tomorrow is the next bad fire risk day for Victoria. It will be dry and windy with temperatures expected to top 40 degrees in the north of the state and reach the high 30's elsewhere.
There will be an ‘Extreme’ Fire Danger Rating in the Wimmera and North Central districts and ‘Severe’ for the rest of the state
SCC Spokesperson Dave Harris said forecast lightning strikes and no rain this afternoon and overnight will pose a serious fire risk.
He said campers needed to make sure their camp fires are properly extinguished and any risky fire activity avoided.
"Fire will start easily and be hard to stop tomorrow - we need the community to take great care and not accidentally start a fire," he said.
Anyone witnessing suspicious activity is asked to call crimestoppers (1800 333 000).
