An evening with Bruce Pascoe

Every seat was filled and it was standing room only at Broadford Fire Station on Monday night the 28th of August 2017.  Over 60 people came from across District 12and beyond to hear two unique presentations about Aboriginal traditional fire and Aboriginal land management.

Koori Cultural Exchange Session in Horsham

As part of CFA’s Koori Inclusion Action Plan, a cultural awareness session took place in Horsham on Saturday 21st of March 2015.  Coincidently this fell on the same day as the United Nations Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Viva Victoria Multicultural Festival 22 March 2015

Thousands of people are again expected to gather at Federation Square on Sunday 22 March for the spectacular Viva Victoria Multicultural Festival. With music and dance across four stages, food, workshops, film, arts, crafts a kids zone with free activities and face painting, and much more this free public event is the ultimate celebration of Victoria’s vibrant cultural diversity.

VicDeaf Christmas BBQ Rally

CFA attended the annual VicDeaf Christmas BBQ Rally on Sunday 7 December 2014 at Westerfolds Park in Templestowe. The focus was on bushfire warnings and advice and how to get the most up to date information.  Plus there were plenty of activities for the kids.

Koori Cultural Awareness Program at Lake Tyers

It was a lovely cool Sunday morning when 15 local CFA members came down to the Lake Tyers Aboriginal Trust Training Centre for a Koori Cultural Awareness Session.   It was a full day session from 10am -4pm that aimed to provide an insight into Aboriginal culture and history.
