2016 Good Friday Appeal
Give so they may grow.
CFA is encouraging members to get behind the 2016 Good Friday Appeal.
This year will be the 85th Good Friday Appeal which will be held on 25 March, 2016.
CFA members have been supporting The Good Friday Appeal for over 60 years and last year helped collect over $1.7 million.
Money raised from the Good Friday Appeal goes towards ensuring The Royal Children Hospital continues to offer world-class care, the latest equipment and research to help sick children have the best start in life.
This year the new face of the campaign is Simone Lionetti. Simone has been a patient at The Royal Children’s Hospital since she was an infant due to her condition, Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
Simone’s Spinal Muscular Atrophy means that she needs a wheelchair to get around and requires help from her parents and carers for many tasks. With the support of The Royal Children’s Hospital, this vibrant girl with a cheeky smile is thriving.
“We’re very fortunate to have access to The Royal Children’s Hospital. What the staff do and how they look after Simone and communicate with her is just amazing. They’re all so happy and accommodating, we just know we're going to get the very best help and support there,” said Simone’s mum, Ella.
Simone and her family represent thousands of other patients and families at the Hospital and they hope to inspire Victorian communities to Give That They May Grow at this year’s Appeal. Money raised from the Good Friday Appeal goes towards equipment, research and education at The Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne to benefit patients like Simone Lionetti.
We’d also love to hear about all the fundraising activities that your brigade is doing this Good Friday, so please post your story and photos on News & Media or share on Facebook.
