There was a total of 925 years service by members at Echuca Fire Brigade, varying from 50+ years to first year of service.
Echuca has increased its active firefighters from 40 last years to 50 this year. This included four new recruits who were at the dinner.
Awards were presented by DCO John Haynes & OO John Cutting to firefighters Matt Wilson (5yrs), Brandt Gladman (5yrs), Jason Quincy (20yrs), & Norm Childs (35yrs)
Campaspe Shire Mayor Ian Maddison discribed the local brigade as a "terrific group" who were "very active in the local Shire". He was very happy to pass on the community's thanks for the very important service provided by the brigade.
DCO Haynes congratulated all the award recipients and said Echuca Brigade looked healthy in terms of numbers, especially with female firefighters. He then spoke on his role in CFA and the challenges CFA faces in a changing enviroment.
