At the recent Meeniyan & Stony Creek Fire Brigade presentation dinner a number of awards were distributed.
Among the recipients were three members of the Young family whose service totalled more than 100 years.
The Young family have been stalwarts of the Meeniyan & Stony Creek Fire Brigade, serving almost continuously for the past half-century. Colin Young joined in the days of Austin tankers, leather beaters and knapsacks. Charlie, his nephew attended many informal training sessions with his uncle before joining officially at aged 18.
Charlie's daughter, Natalie, joined CFA as a Junior member and has been an enthusiastic member since. All three members have attended campaign fires with father and daughter helping at the 2019-20 NSW bushfires.
