Aircraft accident at Clyde North

CFA crews responded to a light plane crash in Clyde North at about 10.40am this morning.

CFA Senior Station Officer Ian Glass said crews arrived at the same time as Ambulance Victoria and worked well together to bring the incident under control.

“On arrival we found a light plane in the paddock with two passengers, one had been removed from the plane and one was still in the plane.

“We worked well with all agencies in ascertaining a safe perimeter by laying a foam blanket around the plane while Ambulance Victoria worked on the two patients.

“We had great interoperability with Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and SES.”

Six CFA trucks from Cranbourne, Nar Nar Goon, Clyde and Berwick assisted in the rescue efforts.

Both patients were airlifted to hospital for treatment.

The scene is now safe.
