Over the next 24 months CFA  will be developing a trial to test and evaluate the building and implementation of a concept 'Alpine First Attack Vehicle'.

The trial, by the Fire & Emergency Management - Service Delivery Strategy Team in collaboration with District 23 and Mount Buller Fire Brigade, will ensure its appropriateness during the winter and summer seasons and therefore meet the future service delivery needs of the Alpine environment.

It is envisaged that the vehicle will increase the capacity of brigade to meet both winter and summer response and performance. It will consist of a Toyota Landcruiser Ute with first attack capabilities, fitted with tracks for the winter and in the summer the wheels will be refitted. On the completion of the trial, the outcomes will be assessed and if successful F&EM Service Delivery Strategy will seek approval from the Chief Officer to agree to a new resourcing model for Alpine Resort and implement as part of the standard CFA resourcing model.

Here's a video that shows what inspired the concept for this trial
