CFA is currently attending a large gas leak in Arthurs Seat near Dromana.
The gas leak is believed to be coming from the main gas line for the Southern Peninsula. There is currently no threat to the community, but people are advised to avoid the area.
The Arthurs Seat Road is currently closed at Purves Road at the top and at McCulloch Street at the bottom.
Police and CFA members are door-knocking nearby houses to alert people to the gas leak.
Residents on the Peninsula are advised to use as little gas as possible until the incident is finalised.
The gas company is on scene investigating the best way to address the issue.
CFA trucks from Dromana, Hallam, Red Hill and Rosebud attended.
