Ash Wednesday Service update
Arrangements have been made for people attending the Ash Wednesday 30th Anniversary Remembrance Service held at St John’s Anglican Church on Sunday 17th February 2013 at 5.00pm.
Arrival at Church: Please ensure that you arrive at the Church no later than 4.45pm. The Service will commence at 5.00pm sharp and will conclude at approximately 6.00pm.
Car Parking: Due to the highly anticipated number of people expected to attend this Service on the day, vehicle parking will be at a premium in the local area.
There will be no parking in the Church Premises.
Please refer to the Ash Wednesday Memorial Service Parking Arrangements map attached for the location and availability of parking.
Bus/Coach service will be available to / from the Church for the parking areas located more than 500 metres away.
Upper Beaconsfield Festival: The local community will be holding a Festival from 9.00am through to 3.00pm on this day. Traffic will be heavy we expect until 4.00pm.
Traffic management and road closures will be in place on the day and will continue until 7.00pm.
Can we ask that you car share if possible.
Dress: The Chief Officer has advised that due to the forecast temperature for Sunday being 33 degrees, the dress of the day for the Remembrance Service, for uniformed members, will be summer uniform, being shirt sleeves and ribbons.
Seating: There will be allocated seating in the church for Family Members, Dignitaries, VIP’s, Guests and Brigades from District 8 and 14. Ushers will be leading people to their allocated seating in the Church.
There will also be limited seating available in the Hall adjoining the Church.
Viewing the Service: For capacity overflow, the Service will be streamed to monitors in the Hall and outside the Church.
