Australia Day Eurobin Falls rescue
Split Enz once sang “history never repeats”. Unfortunately for Bright SES it does.

Australia Day 2017: Eurobin Falls Rescue.
Australia Day 2018: Eurobin Falls Rescue.
A young man slipped down the falls and landed in a pool of water.
Seven members from Bright SES responded, along with five from Myrtleford SES. Support was provided by members of Bright and Porepunkah CFA brigades.
The man had suspected back, leg and lower body injuries, so care had to be taken when extracting him from the pool of water, before placing him on the stretcher for transport out.
The carry out was straightforward, though it was halted several times as ambulance personnel worked on the man. He was flown to Melbourne by helicopter from a nearby property.

An acknowledgment should made for one of the casualty’s friends, who spent a long time in the cold water supporting him before rescue teams arrived, and for some time after.
