Ballarat City thanks IGA
IGA have generously donated more than $900 to Ballarat City Fire Brigade from their Community Chest program.
The donation allowed Ballarat City to purchase equipment for the District 15 staging area hut used across the state during incidents.
Lighting, stretcher beds and traffic management devices were purchased and will undoubtedly be utilised in the upcoming fire season.
District 15 staging area management is coordinated by Ballarat City personnel and has provided assistance to a number of major bushfires across Victoria. The staging area team have responded to large incidents including 2009 Black Saturday Fires, as well as local emergencies at Chepstowe, Dereel and Creswick.
The staging area function is critical to the efficient management of vehicles and personnel. It is a key element in making sure all personnel are well resourced. The IGA funds significantly contribute to this in a large way and are certainly well used in supporting CFA firefighters as they protect their communities. CFA District 15 and Ballarat City Fire Brigade certainly appreciate the efforts of IGA in providing much needed funds to continue their work.
IGA & the Ryan family continue to support many brigades across District 15 with their Community Chest program.
