Bass Coast Group Recruit Success
Bass Coast Group has recently undertaken a recruitment campaign across the entire area to increase the numbers of operational and non-operational members.
Bass Coast Group is made up of ten brigades, including Wonthaggi, Dalyston, Glen Alvie, Kilcunda, San Remo, Phillip Island, Bass, Corinella, Kernot-Grantville and French Island.
Through a combination of media, promotion in newsletters, flyers, brigade profile sheets, letterbox drops, posters, recruitment tables in key locations, attendance at events and information sessions held at most brigades, approximately 25 people have either attended an information session or shown interest since the campaign began and these numbers are conservative.
We have benefited from the cross-promotion across the Group area, with brigades promoting recruitment in their own patch and for neighbouring locations.
Many people have already signed up or in the process of doing so. We have recruited a range of members, many of whom are interested in the broader roles within brigades. A Group run recruit course will commence on 8 April.
Brigades have been very supportive and enthusiastic during this campaign particularly considering the ongoing commitment to the fires around the state. The Bass Coast Group has provided broader support to the campaign, highlighting how important it is that we not only encourage people to join, but make them feel welcome and valued as members right from the start.
A fantastic effort by everyone!!!!
