After the success Bayswater Fire Brigade has had fundraising in their community for the purchase of a Slip On, the brigade is keen to give back to the local community that has given them so much.
This Saturday, the annual Bayswater Community Festival will be held at Mountain High Shopping Centre in Bayswater (Macauley Place, Melway 64 F4) and Bayswater CFA will be there in force to support the local community and create fire safety awareness.
The Festival is set to include lots of activities for the kids including a jumping castle, rock climbing wall and petting zoo, while also including plenty of stalls, arts and craft to keep the whole family amused.
Bayswater will be attending with a number of appliances including the new Slip On, and have arranged for the CFA’s Community Education Bus to come along. There will freebies for the kids, and lots of fire safety information on hand to help educate the community.
The Festival falls on the same weekend as CFA Sunday, and is a good opportunity for the brigade to mingle in the community.
Lieutenant Michael Roche said there has been lots of planning gone into this weekend, and that the brigade was really keen to be give back to the community.
“We are expecting for there to be a good turnout from the local community, and it’s great that it happens to fall on the weekend of CFA Sunday as we will see more people at an event like this, then we could ever hope to see if we opened the station. We’d like to invite everyone to come down and say G’day; it’s a good opportunity for CFA members to see the Community Education Bus in action”
The Festival will be held adjacent to Mountain High Shopping Centre on Macauley Place, Melways Ref 64 F4 between 10:00am and 2:00pm. If you needed any more convincing there will be a free Devonshire Tea and a sausage sizzle.
