Bayswater factory fire

A fire that damaged a guitar manufacturing business in Bayswater has been brought under control.

CFA was called to the Clare Street factory about 12.10pm today (Tuesday). The fire was contained to the rear factory of the three operated by the business.

All workers in the factory evacuated the building safely.

More than 50 firefighters took about an hour to bring the fire under control. The rest of the building has been significantly smoke logged.

13 appliances from Bayswater, Dandenong, Scoresby, Boronia, Ferntree Gully and The Basin will remain at the scene for some time blacking out and mopping up.
