On Saturday 27th April the Beechworth Urban Brigade held their awards night at the Hibernian Hotel.

The awards totaled 300 years of service to the CFA which is a fantastic achievement. The evening was well attended with Mark Owens, Operations Officer for District 24 presenting the awards.

The award recipients for the evening were: -

Jan Gaskett               5 Year Certificate

Hollie Goodwin        5 Year Certificate

Sadie Loveday         5 Year Certificate

Dwayne Bailey         10 Year Medal

Peter Gunkel                        10 Year Medal

Jamie Niklaus          10 Year Medal

Russell Crosby         15 Year Clasp

David Box                  20 Year Clasp

Doug Gavin              20 Year Clasp

Darren Gaskett         25 Year Clasp

Ian Sinclair                30 Year Clasp

Rod Gaskett              50 Year Clasp

The highlight of the evening was Captain Rod Gaskett receiving his 50 year clasp. Rod has shown great dedication and service to the Beechworth Community over the past 50 years. As well as being Captain, Rod also administers the Fire Equipment Maintenance for the town as well as the        Co-ordinator for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal in Beechworth.
