Bittern aces section 29
At Bittern Fire Brigade's bi-annual dinner on Saturday 13 August, District 8 Operations Manager Mark Kennedy presented Captain Andrew Brown with a certificate acknowledging the outstanding achievement by the brigade in achieving 100 per cent compliance during their annual Section 29 inspection.

This achievement is significant as it shows the dedication and commitment by all members of Bittern Fire Brigade to provide their community with a high level of service and to achieve the goals set out for them.
The brigade achieved compliance over all the areas inspected and its viability was rated at 10. Inspecting officer, Operations Officer Arthur Haynes, commented that the BMT and brigade work to a fantastic ethic where the station, vehicles and skills of the members are exceptional. District 8 Operations Manager at the time of the inspection, Mike Owen, remarked, "The Bittern brigade is a strong and viable brigade with good leadership and skilled members".
Although surprised, Captain Brown was proud of the recognition but praised all the members of the brigade for their commitment and effort in achieving the outstanding result. In Captain Brown’s address to the guests, he emphasised the importance of the families of the members and the critical role they play in supporting the community.
"'The members make the brigade and the family make the member’ is a poignant reminder of the true essence of being a community-based service where the entire family is involved although maybe only one person is actually a member," said Captain Brown.
Congratulations to Captain Brown and all the members of Bittern Fire Brigade.
