Blue Ribbon Day is when all Victorians are encouraged to remember Victoria Police officers who have been killed in the line of duty and pay tribute to the 159 officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting Victoria.  Blue Ribbon Day is also an opportunity to show police men and women who continue to serve that their community is grateful and their work is valued.

CFA Chief Officer, Steve Warrington is urging all members to support Blue Ribbon Day.

As a fire service, we know all too well the courage and dedication shown by our members to protect lives and property in Victoria.

Blue Ribbon Day is an opportunity to pay tribute to all fellow emergency service men and women from Victoria who have sacrificed their lives serving the community.

In support of Blue Ribbon Day, CFA will be hosting an afternoon tea at 2.30pm on Thursday 29 September at HQ in the Boardroom, Building 8 Lakeside Drive, East Burwood.

Blue Ribbon merchandise is available for purchase at reception and at the afternoon tea.

Money raised for Blue Ribbon Day goes towards new and improved emergency facilities in public hospitals named in memory of fallen officers; in essence remembering lives by saving others.

I would also encourage all regions and districts to get behind this important fundraiser and day of remembrance in hosting a morning tea or small event of their own during September.

To receive a fundraising kit for your event, you can contact the Blue Ribbon Foundation on (03) 9555 8000. The kit includes a donation tin and merchandise for sale.
