A 4 year old boy has been taken to hospital suffering burns after a house fire at Inverloch this afternoon (Tuesday, 11 June).

CFA crews from Inverloch, Wonthaggi and Pound Creek were called to the blaze at The Crescent around 4.15pm.

They found a house fully involved in fire and a toddler suffering burns to his back, legs and arms. He was treated at the scene by Ambulance Victoria paramedics and transported to hospital.

Other occupants of the house managed to escape and the fire was extinguished in less than an hour. It's believed the boy may have been playing with matches, before the blaze started..
