Cosgrove & Pine Lodge Fire Brigade will soon be more versatile when attending incidents thanks to a new trailer-mounted quick-fill pump.

The brigade will purchase the new trailer in the New Year, after successfully applying for a grant through Bendigo Bank’s Greater Shepparton Connected Community – Community Grants Program.

Brigade Captain Ross Harmer said his volunteers will use the high-capacity quick-fill pump attached to the trailer to refill tankers at incidents across District 22. Water will come from the new Cosgrove South 285,000-litre water tank.

“We’ve been busily preparing for the upcoming summer, ensuring our volunteers are on standby for all sorts of incidents that may occur,” Ross said.

“Part of these preparations included an extensive amount of work putting together a proposal for this grant.

“The information we provided successfully demonstrated the important work we do for our community and how a new trailer and other equipment would assist us in better protecting life and property in the Cosgrove/Pine Lodge regions.

“Our brigade is really grateful for the support these organisations have given our volunteers.”
