Building diversity in CFA
An opportunity exists for members to take part in an important study being conducted on the way which CFA currently engages with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds (CALD) as a means to build better community relationships and sustain volunteerism in to the future.
Having a diverse membership throughout CFA is one of our key strengths. Our members come from all walks of life, backgrounds, occupations and interests. Despite having a good grounding for a diverse membership base, we can do even better.
As the demographic of the vast number of communities which CFA serves changes, so the need for us to change the way we serve our respective communities. We need to understand better the people which we serve, their values, their attitudes, their drivers and their culture. Likewise, we also need to be able to help them understand the CFA. In doing this, we can ensure our ability to sustain volunteerism in to the future, whist becoming a culturally inclusive and leading edge organisation.
CFA is undertaking a research project partnered with La Trobe University exploring how our organisation engages with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and how we can continue to do this better in to the future.
We are currently seeking an expression of interest from members (irrespective of their cultural background) to take part in an informal interview about your experiences, ideas, values and attitudes in relation to this subject.
Interviews are a relaxed conversation over a coffee, about 40 minutes in length, strictly confidential (you personally will not be identified in any reports/results) and an excellent way for all of us to start the ball rolling on building diversity within CFA. You don't have to go anywhere for the interview, we are willing to meet with you, at your desired location at a time that is best suited.
