Point Cook firefighters are calling on local community members to join them on Good Friday as they attempt to break last year's Good Friday Appeal fundraising total of $21,300

The brigade has joined forces with local community and sporting groups and is now calling on other members of the community to sign up for door-to-door collecting efforts on March 29.

Buses will drop off and collect volunteer doorknockers at various strategic locations around Point Cook, Seabrook, Sanctuary lakes and Werribee South during the day.

Schools, groups, clubs, families or individuals can sign up to help out all day or even just part of the day by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or calling Brooke Simon on 0415 732 667.

In addition to the tin rattling the brigade is holding a charity auction on its Good Friday Appeal Facebook page and a family fun day in Friar park next to Point Cook Fire Station on Dunnings Road (opposite Palmers Road).

Lots of free activities including face painting, music and martial arts demonstrations will keep the kids occupied.
