Car crashes into Berwick bakery
On Sunday 20 October around 11:30am a car reversed into a bakery in Bemersyde Drive Berwick.
The car containing two females crashed into the bakery causing the food cabinets to be crushed together and smash into the stores power switchboard and refrigeration units.
A staff member was injured when struck by the fast moving cabinets and she was treated by paramedics on-scene before being transported by ambulance.
Captain Alan Boyd from Berwick said it was very fortunate there were no customers inside at the time. The Shire building inspector was called to assess the damage and so was a health inspector because food was involved.
SES also assisted with the removal of damaged framing and helping to shore up the store front.
A total of three people were taken to hospital for treatment.
