The CFA today announces the resignation of Joe Buffone as Chief Officer.
Joe was a valued member of our organisation and we are disappointed by his decision to leave after eight months in the role.
He leaves us as we are entering into a period of consultation with our members on the EBA.
We have worked closely with Joe this week to address concerns which were unrelated to the EBA. However, the Board was unable to examine these unexpected claims.
Joe has brought significant experience and knowledge of emergency management to his role. I am disappointed that he did not feel he could continue to perform his duties and help our organisation at this difficult time.
Steve Warrington has been appointed acting Chief Officer for an interim period.
