Just after 6am this morning (27 October) CFA crews were called to a shed fire at a caravan repairs store in Cobram.
The 30x40m shed containing caravans, trailers, gas bottles and various other materials was fully involved in the fire.
A specialist aerial truck was brought in from Shepparton to battle the fire from above ground and several crew members were required to wear breathing apparatus.
CFA issued an advice message due to smoke in the area and road closures.
District 22 Operations Officer Shane Sutton said crews came from as far as Bendigo, Shepparton and even across the NSW border to assist with the incident.
"It was a job well done to all who attended. It makes me proud to see our firefighters come together and work as a high performing team in the interests of protecting our community,” said Officer Sutton.
"A big thank you to firefighters from our neighbouring state of NSW who sent support from across the boarder.
“The crews did well to isolate the fire to the one building and managed to prevent any potential spreading.”
CFA crews are still on the scene blacking out and assisting with the clean-up.
A fire investigator is currently at the scene to help determine the cause of the fire.
Sixteen trucks are currently at the incident including vehicles from Bendigo, Cobram, Katamatite, Katunga, Muckatah, Naring, Numurkah, Shepparton, Strathmerton, Yarroweyah and Yarrawonga.
The incident was declared safe at 8.10am.
