The Australian Volunteer Coast Guard has been deployed for the second time in one week to support the CFA logistics team to transport stores and equipment. The locations they have travelled to include Heyfield, Euroa and Violet Town. They have delivered much needed supplies for the fire fighters who are continuing to battle fires in these areas.

Members from Carrum Coast Guard Brigade with medium and heavy rigid licence’s drove CFA trucks on Wednesday 23rd January to deliver extra helmets, uniforms and general supplies to the Heyfield staging area.

Werribee and Safety Beach Coast Guard Brigades were activated Sunday 28th January at 10am and went directly to the CFA logistics centre in Knoxfield. They picked up stores including water, loaded them on Coast Guard trucks and then transported them to the Euroa and Violet Town staging areas. The Coast Guard teams left home at 10am, returning home at 9.30pm, tired but satisfied that they had contributed and helped the men and women who have been battling fires for weeks.

The teams are back on standby, ready to go again realising how much work still needs to be done. Coast Guard will continue to commit resources to help their comrades for as long as their support is needed.

The CFA and Australian Volunteer Coast Guard will continue working together until the job is done.
