CFA crews attend house fire in Melton South

UPDATE 4.05pm: The fire was called under control at 4pm.

UPDATE 3.40pm: CFA crews are currently on the scene of a house fire in Melton South.

Crews were called to the scene at 3.05 this afternoon (17 August) and the fire is not yet under control.

The fire has engulfed the single story dwelling on Brooklyn Road.

CFA District 14 Rostered Duty Officer Lachie Redman said that additional appliances were required on the job due to a lack of water in the area.

"We had to bring in several tanker because the fire occured in a housing development area where access to water was limited," he said.

Police and Power Co are both required to attend the incident.

CFA fireys from Bacchus Marsh, Melton, Eynesbury, Caroline Springs, Ballarat City and Rockbank are currently on the scene working hard to extinguish the blaze.
