CFA, MFB and the T20 Tug of War
Last Saturday 22 December saw CFA join forces yet again with MFB to take part in a Tug of War event at Etihad Stadium, before the clash between the Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat began.
As part of the continuing partnership with the Renegades this season, 2 Members each from CFA, MFB and the crowd combined to build teams of 3 on 3, and pulled for glory in front thousands of cricket fans.
Geoff Ranzenhofer and Josh Foggie from Greenvale Brigade were there pulling for CFA, and both did a great job not only in the event itself, but also in surviving the 40 degree heat in their full turn out gear.
The event didn’t just provide some fun and exciting pre game entertainment for the crowd, but helped also in continuing to push our key messages this summer, and raise people’s awareness of fire danger in both metro and rural areas.
We hope that awareness will continue to increase even more on Boxing Day, as CFA are also set to attend the Melbourne Test Match with the aim of further engaging the public about bush fire safety this summer.
Thanks again to all the Members from CFA and MFB who gave their time on Saturday night.
