CFA staff from the Hamilton Office along with families and friends are taking part in the Murray to Moyne bicycle team relay this weekend (6 and 7 April).

The team, 12 riders and one support member, are starting their ride on Saturday morning leaving Mildura and making their way down to Port Fairy riding in relay, arriving after lunch on Sunday. The total distance of the ride is 520kms.

One of the goals of the Murray to Moyne is to raise funds for hospitals and health services throughout Victoria.

In the spirit of the Murray to Moyne, the CFA team has committed to raising much needed funds for the Royal Flying Doctors Service. The goal is to raise $3000.

The team has organised a number of fundraising activities including a silent auction for red gum fire wood and another was a trivia night held in Hamilton, raising $1566.

To date, they have raised about $3000 for the Royal Flying Doctors Service. There is still an 18ct white gold Antique Diamond and Red ruby ring to Auction on ebay valued at $2000.

Now you can be involved in the last fundraising activity before the ride this weekend by taking part in an auction for a 1957 polished Brass and Copper Quell Soda Acid fire extinguisher still containing the soda acid bottle.

Visit see a of the polished extinguisher. The auction open until 12pm, 5 April 2013.

Or you can make a tax deductible donation by going to and choosing Team 25 (The Flying Flynn's).

Thanking you for supporting the Murray to Moyne,

CFA Flying Flynn’s relay team 2013.
