CFA Plan 2017-18
Today we release the annual CFA Plan for 2017-18 – a document that provides a clear framework for CFA to drive our work over the next 12 months.
This plan articulates a fresh approach where our brigades, districts, regions and directorates are empowered to work together to make CFA a modern firefighting and emergency service that better reflects the communities we serve.
In the CFA Plan you will find six strategic priorities that focus our activities, resources and investments.
• Responding to community need
• Supporting our people
• Promoting health, safety and wellbeing
• Building sector partnerships and collaboration
• Strengthening our operational capability
• Leading transformational change
Each priority of the plan features a description of the outcomes CFA seeks to achieve in 2017-18.
This plan will steer our work over the next 12 months and ensure we remain focused on our core task of protecting people and property.
This plan also takes into consideration the Victorian Government’s proposed changes to fire services, including how the significant funding commitment underpinning the reform may support CFA and help deliver better services throughout Victoria.
Importantly, this plan has informed CFA’s budget development over the next financial reporting period. Over the course of the next 12 months, CFA will undertake a range of important work to improve our organisation and build a contemporary agency that is inclusive, resilient and ready for the future.
I encourage everyone involved with CFA to read this plan and discuss it in your brigades, teams and districts, we all have a role to play in supporting our priority areas.
