CFA planned burns for Eastern Melb.
Smoke will be visible around Belgrave South and areas surrounding the Silvan and Cardinia Reservoirs this evening, Tuesday 9 April, as CFA crews conduct important fuel reduction burns.
Favourable weather conditions have allowed the strategic hazard reduction measurers to be carried out on behalf of Melbourne Water to manage bushfire risk in parts of the catchment.
6 hectares will also be treated at Belgrave South.
Residents in surrounding areas should expect to see smoke for several days while crews black out and ensure the burns are extinguished.
Further fuel reduction burns are likely to be conducted at Mt Dandenong tomorrow, Wednesday 10 April.
Residents with breathing difficulties are urged to relocate or stay indoors.
Those suffering breathing difficulties should contact Nurse on Call on 1300 60 60 24.
