CFA Regulations updated
The new Country Fire Authority Regulations 2014 (CFA Regulations) will commence on 1 November 2014, and will replace the current 2004 CFA Regulations.
Most of the amendments to the CFA Regulations have been made to update, simplify or clarify aspects of the regulations and do not affect any substantive or policy change to the existing regulations.
The only substantive changes relate to fees and charges payable to CFA for non-fire emergency attendances and new provisions extending the volunteer compensation entitlements of forestry industry brigade members when assisting CFA with fire prevention/planned burning.

However, as a consequence of the amendments, there have been changes to the numbering of some of the regulations and schedules, including the model rules which are now contained in Schedule 2.

Note that there were earlier amendments to the volunteer compensation provisions of the CFA Regulations, which commenced on 1 July 2014 to align with the new commencement of the new workplace injury legislation under the workers compensation scheme.
