The CFA Caravan Club was recently formed and supported by CFA, with formal recognition and approval to use the CFA name and logo.

By John Raymond

The Club was formed to foster relationships, social harmony and reduce social isolation for current and former CFA volunteers, career firefighters and other staff. It will enable them to participate in activities associated with owning and using caravans, including camper trailers and motor homes.

The club will also promote the safe and responsible operation of caravans, foster the enjoyment of social interaction and caravanning for members, observe and initiate safe practices when caravanning, develop and encourage proper use/consideration to Australian Road Regulation/Rules to promote the improvement of driving and caravanning skills among members, and organise and promote social activities among members.

What better way to enjoy your caravanning experience than to travel with a group from the CFA ‘family’ from across the state who share a common passion for caravanning and travel.

The club also recognises the different caravanning interests of local, Australia-wide and outback travel.

The club wants to encourage members from across the state to get involved in the work of the committee.

A web page www.cfacaravanclub.org.au has been established and we’ll add information in the near future to let members know about functions, club trips and other activities. We’re also organising merchandise.

Club executives are:

President: John Raymond

Vice President: Allan Small
