Saving the best till last!

Well, The Basin's report from CFA Sunday may be posted later than most, but we saved the best till last!

What an electrifying day to be part of. Over 350 people visited The Basin fire station's open day on Sunday 25 November 2012. Our enthusiastic members proudly showed off the recent station renovations and our specialist equipment and vehicles.

Our free sausages proved to be popular and we sizzled over 30kg of them! Children enjoyed making their own personalised placemats and the helmets were ever so popular - as usual.

Our bushfire preparedness display, along with our home fire safety display, engaged a number of residents who requested information and local advice. Our Auxillary sold over 40 books for our community Christmas stocking.

Engaged crowds also enjoyed our BA display, fire blanket demonstration and our junior running comp. demonstration.

The best part of the day for me was the obvious camaraderie between our members. It was an extremely inspiring day to be a part of.
