The Boxing Day Test at the MCG has always been an important day on the calendar for cricket lovers.

However this year held some extra significance as CFA were also amongst the action as they continued to push the message of bush fire safety this summer.

While CFA have had a strong presence at a number of cricket events this summer already, this was the first event where we have had the opportunity to engage such an enormous audience with almost 70,000 people attending on the day.

Craig Dunshea from Toolern Vale Brigade and Kiri Ratcliffe and Glenn Keats both from The Basin Brigade were there in attendance on behalf of CFA, and did a wonderful job in spreading the word to the public about what they can do to be prepared this summer in the name of bush fire safty.

Based on the feedback the day was a great success for CFA, as there were many people who were really happy to stop and chat to the guys about what they should know if they live close to, or are planning to travel through an area prone to bush fires this summer.

This close relationship with CFA and Cricket will continue into 2013, as we prepare to attend a series of Junior Cricket Clinics and Charity Matches throughout rural Victoria in areas where bush fires are a very real threat.

Thanks again to Craig, Kiri and Glenn for their time and support on Boxing Day.
