Cliff rescue at Portland

A 16 year old boy trapped half way down a 50 metre high cliff at Portland is being rescued by specialist CFA and SES personnel.

Emergency Services were called to the scene near Bentinck Street just before 4.30pm Tuesday 20 November after reports a teenager was stuck.

High angle rope rescue specialists have sprung into action, lowering two rescue personnel to the boy, who is being lowered to the ground below.

The resuce is likely to have been completed before 5.30pm.

The boy appears to have escaped serious injuries, suffering cuts and bruises.
