Competition to name new rose
The Firestar rose is the official rose of CFA. Created by Knight’s Roses, it was developed after the tragedies of the 2009 fires.
Since its creation, Firestar Rose and Phoneix have been brightening the gardens of many CFA members. Now it’s time to welcome a new bud to the bunch! The only problem is - it needs a name.
We’re calling on CFA members to suggest names for the new rose until COB on 4 January 2013.
Your rose name suggestion should:
• be positive.
• be suitable for a rose
• be easy to spell and pronounce
• be preceded by ‘Firestar’ (eg Firestar Phoenix)
• include an explanation (of no more than 50 words) of why you chose that particular name.
The winner will not only give the new rose its official name, but will also receive a Firestar rose, Firestar Phoenix rose, and the newest member in the Firestar series.
Our judges will choose the winner and announce it on CFA News & Media in the New Year.
Terms and conditions:
Competition closes 11.59pm on Friday 4 January 2013, with one winner to be selected on Monday 7 January 2013. The winner will be notified by phone and featured on news.cfa.vic.gov.au. The prize is not exchangeable for cash. The outcome of the draw is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Contact details will only be used in relation to the prize draw. They will not be passed on to a third party or used for promotional purposes. Entries submitted without a 50-word or less explanation will not be considered. The three bare-rooted roses will be sent to the winner in May 2013.
