Crews battle building fire
UPDATE 0945: Fire crews have brought a fire at a Warragul disability support centre under control.
Firefighters worked for more than an hour to stop flames spreading to 2 neighbouring buildings on the corner of Mason and Alfred Streets.
District 9 Duty Officer, Operations Officer Bill Alards praised the volunteer and career firefighters for their efforts.
"Their success in stopping the fire spreading to two other buildings is the best outcome we could have hoped for in the circumstances," Mr Alards said.
The single story building, known as "Mawarra" sustained significant damage. The building was unoccupied at the time.
Crews will remain on scene mopping up and fire investigators will work to determine a cause.
0825: CFA crews, including the large "cherry picker" ladder platform truck from nearby Traralgon are battling a blaze in a building on the corner of Albert and Mason Streets.
CFA was alerted to the fire just before 8am (Saturday, 2 May) and responded with pumpers from Warragul and the District.
Firefighters from Traralgon and Drouin are also on scene. Crews are using breathing apparatus.
At this early stage the cause of the fire is still unclear.
