Dawn O’Neil to speak at CFA Forum
Former Lifeline and beyondblue CEO Dawn O’Neil AM has been confirmed to present to CFA members at the 4th Annual ‘CFA Community Engagement and Fire Awareness State Forum’.
This year’s forum will be held in Preston and registrations of interest are now open. The 2013 event in Bendigo attracted 300 members representing 160 different CFA brigades across the State. You can watch highlights of last year’s event here.
Dawn has fascinating experience in both organisational change and leadership, particularly during her time at Lifeline. Working both as a volunteer and with volunteers for over 30 years, Dawn is well equipped to talk about the realities of change and leadership and how they affect an organisation as a whole, especially its volunteers. You can view Dawn’s blog here.

The State Forum is led by the Member Engagement Volunteer Reference Group and the theme for this year’s event is ‘Working together to prepare our communities’.
“That theme takes on multiple meanings,” said CFA Deputy Chief Officer Steve Warrington “one of which is the need for operations and community-safety-minded members to support one another to demonstrate that both fire prevention and suppression activities are core CFA business.”
Saturday night accommodation and meals for CFA members will be covered by the CFA Member Engagement Team.
If you are a CFA member interested in your community’s fire preparedness then register your interest to attend now.
