Death of NSW firefighter

Chief Officer Euan Ferguson and CEO Mick Bourke have passed on CFA’s condolences to Fire & Rescue NSW Commissioner Greg Mullins after the death of a firefighter in Cobra, central NSW, yesterday.

The officer was attending a hotel fire when a wall collapsed and he suffered what is believed to be cardiac arrest. A second firefighter suffered a broken arm but is recovering.

Commissioner Mullins said the whole firefighting community was devastated by the death. “Today we have lost a dedicated firefighter, committed to protecting his community.”
