Digital radio reflash employment
Employment opportunities with the Regional Radio Dispatch Service Project, delivering CFA's new digital radio network.
To prepare for the introduction of CFA’s new digital radio network, the Regional Radio Dispatch Service (RRDS) Project Team will undertake a ‘Reflash’ of all Tait radios. The ‘Reflash’ involves reprogramming the radios to enable them to function on the new digital radio network.
The RRDS Project Team is currently recruiting 10 Reflash Support Officers to undertake this work. The roles will be based at CFA State Headquarters, Burwood East. Teams will travel across outer metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria, working across CFA Districts. Working to daily schedules, the teams will visit Brigades and Members to reflash Tait radios and undertake associated administration and reporting on reflash progress. The roles start from 9 September 2013.
Further information about these positions, including information about how to apply:
• Internal applicants through People Moves (23 August 2013)
• External applicants through the Volunteer and Careers section of CFA website.
Applications close 2 September 2013.
Potential applicants should read the Position Description and Key Selection Criteria. Before applying, interested applicants should ensure their suitability for the roles including the requirement to travel outside of Melbourne and stay overnight in regional Victoria for a number of days at a time.
Assistance from CFA Members and Staff to encourage suitably qualified and motivated individuals to apply would be greatly appreciated.
