Dimboola celebrates a succesful year
It was a full house on Friday 22 September as the Dimboola Fire Brigade celebrated a year of achievements at their annual dinner and awards evening.
After everyone enjoyed catching up over nibbles and drinks and a delicious main course it was time to start the formalities.
Members young and old gathered to toast their brigade and celebrate members receiving awards.
Ranging from 5 to an outstanding 30 years of service, these awards show just how dedicated members of the Dimboola brigade are.
Life memberships were awarded to Wayne Hartwich, Ray Pilmore and Robert Sprake who have all been members of Dimboola Fire Brigade for thirty years. Bronwyn Hastings has also awarded a Brigade Appreciation Certificate for her long standing secretarial service to the brigade.
Another significant moment occurred at the dinner as former Captain of 15 months Simon Hastings handed over the Captaincy to Ashley Wallace.
Simon said that it made sense to hand over the Captaincy after moving to Horsham and therefore being further away from the brigade.
Ashley said the dinner was a great evening and he feels priveledged to accept this challenging new role.
“It’s going to be a great opportunity and one I feel honoured to accept.”
“The dinner had a great turnout and it was a real plasure to have Board Member Tim Young attend.
“It was pretty impressive to see several members of our small brigade receive life memberships.
“This really demonstrates their dedication to not only CFA but also our community.”
Overall, it was an outstanding night for the brigade and big congratulations to all the award recipients for the hard work and commitment they've put in.
