District 23 Staff Awards Presentation Day
District staff are always prepared and dedicated to serve the community in providing valuable support to our brigades and operational activities including ICC operations.
As a district we recognise volunteer efforts and through our busy schedules on occasions we overlook the District staff and the contributions they make. However without the dedicated services of members within the district CFA would not be able to operate as we currently do and provide the service to the community that we are prided on.
With the new fire season on our door step it was an opportune time to recognise the staff and their service and commitment to CFA and the community. The event was held at VEMTC Wangaratta with a number of special quests. These included Chief Officer Steve Warrington, DCO Garry Cook and ACO Ross Sullivan.
The presentation on 18 September was opened and quests welcomed by Operations Manager Stewart Kreltszheim. There were a number of service awards presented by the Chief Officer as well as three extra awards including a Commendation For Service to Paul Horton, a National Medal with a second clasp and an Outstanding Service Medal for Andrew Gaston.
Other awards presented included 5 years to Elena Gigliotti, 15 years service to Andrew Hodson, Anne Cartwright, Garth Lilley, Justin Tilson, Mark Williams and Terry Heafield, 25 years service to David Brock, Melissa Shkoza and Stewart Kreltszheim, 30 years service to Paul Horton and 40 years service to Andrew Gaston.
Members families also attended to be part of the medal presentations and enjoy the afternoon.
