At 3am today (21 October) Doreen Fire Brigade was responded to a house fire in Doreen.

Multiple calls to Triple Zero indicated a two-storey house was on fire.
Arriving on scene, we confirmed the second storey of the house was fully alight.
Quick action by crews contained the fire to the second storey while protecting the adjacent houses from the flames.

In attendance were:

  • Doreen Pumper Tanker
  • South Morang Pumper
  • Doreen Tanker
  • Yarrambat Tanker
  • Mernda Tanker
  • Wollert Lighting (FCV)
  • Doreen FCV

Everyone involved worked well together.

Fire investigators will attend today to determine the cause of the blaze.

Footnote: theory from the recent District 14 Pumps and Hydraulics pilot course was put into practice to good effect. Thanks again to SO Glenn Bosua and OO Gavin Wright for putting that course together. "It's All About the Flow"
