Passionate volunteers from Paynesville Fire Brigade visited Paynesville and Eagle Point Primary School’s on Monday 22 October.

Fire Awareness sessions were arranged by the brigade and delivered with enthusiasm.

Vivienne Wood (Captain) and Col Glassock worked together with other brigade members and both schools to develop a fire awareness program with an emphasis on home fire safety.

“At Eagle Point Primary the smoke machine was set in a class room, filling the room, which worked really well”, Col said.

Allan Cracknell an experienced Fire Safe Kids presenter and member of Bairnsdale Fire Brigade offered his support to the brigade, for which they were very grateful.

Col said, “159 students and teachers participated in the sessions and it is our hope that the information and practical activities shown on the day will encourage students to talk with their families and better prepare if they are confronted with a fire situation”.
