Each year, the Eaglehawk Fire Brigade members have a long running relationship with the Eaglehawk RSL and this year was no different.

Approx 25 members meet at the station bright and early on Thursday 25th April and made their way to the front of the Eaglehawk Town Hall for the 6am dawn service.  At this service, the Eaglehawk Fire Brigade are the only people who are allowed to lay a reef.  This year, Captain Eric Smith and Fire Fighter Terry Widdows had the pleasure in doing so.

The members then re-grouped at 8:20am at the front of the station and had the honer in marching with ex-war hero's and the Eaglehawk Brass Band to the town hall for the start of the memorial service.  This year was a record crowd at the memorial of around 350 people.
Again, the Eaglehawk Brigade got to lay their reef again, this time by Training Officer Hayden Allen and Fire Fighter Doug Murley, along with many other community groups and schools.

At the end of both services, everyone was invited back to the Eaglehawk Band Hall for scones and a cuppa with a dash of rum.

It was a terrific morning, and we look forward to continuing this tradition for many years to come.
