Email news update results
A trial that saw regular email news updates sent to more than 20,000 CFA members over the fire season will continue after overwhelmingly positive feedback from volunteers.
At the end of the trial 94% of respondents (2,989) said they would like to continue to receive regular updates: 21% weekly, 35% fortnightly, and 44% monthly.
Based on the feedback CFA's Executive Leadership Team has approved guidelines for a new opt-in/ opt-out email system. This will allow CFA members to choose the information they want to receive, apart from critical safety updates which will be sent to all CFA members with no opt-out.
From July this year, CFA volunteers with an up-to-date email address on Brigades Online will begin to receive fortnightly news updates, occasional time-critical updates, and updates from the Chief Officer.
If you don’t want these updates you can unsubscribe via Brigades Online (apart from critical safety updates).
We are developing an online facility (like online paging) that will allow all members to send an email to a group of CFA recipients without having to manage their own contact list. Who you can send to will depend on your rank, role and location in CFA (same as the online paging system).
