The Operational Information Systems team at Emergency Management Victoria has been working hard since last summer on enhancements and new functions for EM-COP (Emergency Management Common Operating Picture).
Some of these improvements were identified in last year's EM-COP User Forum:
- Google Traffic has been added to the Maps menu with updates every minute.
- A set of new resource tracking feature for CFA vehicles in regional areas has been added to the Tracking menu. CFA is working on adding metro vehicles later in the year.
- An update to the Power Outages dashboard now includes power dependent customers and electrical feeder information.
- Improvements for publishing warnings and the addition of new warnings areas for riverine flooding have been added.
- Many enhancements and additions to the Help pages.
- New functions and navigation improvements added to the desktop pages, with better integration to the library.
- Improvements to the security of the information in the EM-COP Document Store.
- New data layers and updates to existing data layers for locations and boundaries.
A new function to ask users to re-verify their account information on their anniversary date each year will be coming soon. Users will start seeing a notification screen when they log in, starting one month before their anniversary.
Finally, work is underway on updated satellite imagery for the Maps menu and exploration of a new analytics capability. EMV is working with SES and potentially other agencies to add resource tracking. The potential to add marine incidents and vessel tracking is also being pursued.
