Family escapes Taylors Hill fire
A family of five evacuated safely from their Taylors Hill home, which was engulfed in fire early this morning (12 July) - thanks to a working smoke alarm and a solid fire escape plan.
Three CFA crews from Caroline Springs got the call to attend a large fire at the single-storey brick home on Bowman Court at 4.40am this morning.
Our crews worked with MFB firefighters to extinguish the blaze, which was deemed under control by 6.40am. Ambulance and police also attended.
Rostered District 14 Duty Officer Lachlan Redman praised the work of firefighters who managed to save half the home.
“Our fire investigators are yet to determine the cause, however I’d like to remind residents to be very vigilant in winter when using heaters and cooking appliances,” Mr Redman said.
“This family demonstrates how important it is to ensure you have a working smoke alarm and you regularly discuss what to do in the event of fire with your family.”
